THE TATTOO


How much do we know of this semicolon tattoo that approximately 2.5b  people have tattooed on their skin worldwide, what was the reason of them having it or what drove them to have it, well for me I would say it is about what happened when he/she was growing up that really scared him/her so much that they were scared of their own life, and what can that possibly be.

People do have tattoos and they do have meanings to those who bare them, I have a tattoo on my right and left leg. On the right leg I have a tattoo of Jesus piece and on my left leg I have a tattoo of an wolf and on my right side the neck this time I have another Jesus piece so in total I have three tattoos on me and they all do have a meaning to me. Well before someone gets a tattoo inked on him/her they first look up for the meaning and the reason why they feel like having that tattoo which makes them feel safe for certain occurrences in their life.

 Growing  up I always wanted to have a tattoo , back then I did not knew the meaning behind tattoo and why people had them , all I saw was a cool drawing on someone’s skin and I really liked it that was way back in 90s. When I graduated from high school that is when I had my first tattoo on my neck. If I can describe the tattoo in short it would look like this, it is a Jesus piece.

             “It is a cross with wings on the extended arm of the cross with some blood droppings from the cross”. That’s the tattoo.

The meaning to it (the cross represent the crucification of Christ ,the drops from the cross represent the  sins that were washed away by the blood of Christ, the wings represent resurrection).

As time went by I started looking deep into tattoos and their meaning,  the first meaning I come across was the one that everybody knows which to me I call it book meaning. (A tattoo is a marking, a beauty added on the skin). But is the real meaning about tattoo in a spiritual meaning ,that is when I decided to go out of the regular meaning to say and dive in deeper to different types of cultures and their beliefs to their understanding about tattoo and hopefully I found one , this was  the most powerful meaning I have ever come across and that is why I love tattoo according to me because all I know is that they should have a meaning and a purpose in someone’s  life and I bet most of you out the does not know of this.

     (A tattoo is like a rite of passage, it is like an open wound, a wound that never heals). This is why I like to have tattoos on me.

My first  tattoo , it was inked on me because of a certain occurrence that happened in my life , right after I completed the primary school level (8th grade) my dad was so happy for me and he wanted me to join high school but that never happened  he passed  away even before he knew which school I was joining , inside I was so torn apart and  angry at myself and everyone around me, closing out  people  from my life by my silence , after all the happenings finally everything went back to normal and I was able to join high school ,with what had happed  I did not  turn to drugs nor think of taking my life or hating everyone around me forever, but I found a new way to express  my feelings and that was to have the tattoo, every time I was  doing something and someone  saw my tattoo they would  come up to me asking why draw yourself and why that tattoo, I would say it’s  for my dad I don’t ever want to forget about him.

A few years down the line still in high school my brother passed away this time I was In( form three(senior year)the rage inside doubled up and this time everything kind of changed  ,I become this silent  guy to which I wasn't one growing up ,I couldn't tell why  people close to me had to leave me that soon , this  led  to my second tattoo on my right leg another Jesus piece but different from the first one and is how it looks in short description.(it is a cross inside the cross is the Christ head bowed down wearing the crown of thorns on his head). When I look at this tattoo it reminds of the pain and suffering he went through and he did not want us to suffer that’s why he died for us, every time he is looking down on us and keeps reminding us that those who have left us they are in a better place and its only a matter of time before we all meet again. 

Having a tattoo is not bad thing  but what make it looks bad is the reason and the kind of tattoo you have. To those people having the semicolons tattoo on them, why do you keep hiding away from the world or keep covering them so that no one can see it, that’s only means that you are still hiding in your past which is not so good , God did not create us the same but he created us in his own image. 

Tell your story and be free from it, help someone out there  who is in the same situation   you were couple of years back let them know how precious life is and how  much family is our light  and rock to get through what we are going through help build this community and by doing this we will be also helping ourselves  by helping some like us , skin color or where you come from is never the matter lets be a voice to the world let us be one voice to be heard by  billions more out there.

It is very sad to see how people are covered up in tattoo in this 21st century, some in very scary once I hope they do know their meanings even though most of young people have sold their souls in the name of looking cool and fitting in, trying to be like someone else but that is not the way to go and it shouldn't be to anyone. Everyone deserve to live his/her own life but how do you want your future be, how will your child’s life be, what would they say when they look at you as their parent.

My third tattoo on my left leg, basically Is all about me and my character in short description, it is a wolfs’ head held up looking straight forward, under it is a drawing of full moon and within the moon there is a shaded hauling wolf, on the sides of the moon and the wolf there are pine trees representing a small forest. This tattoo show how brave one is in his/her life through any trying adversities and  you can overcome anything , a wolf is a very strong predator  and intelligent one too , a wolf never tires from its quest until it reaches its  destination and still it wouldn't stop protecting its family no matter the consequences , so to every person out there who  felt like its  him/her alone in this world I think you are wrong because you have a family that loves you and would want to see you smile every day,  no matter  small  family  you have let cherish every moment you have together cause you never know when you will suddenly be alone and being alone has never done anyone good trust me.

Well what I would tell anyone out there who feel like having a tattoo just make it have a purpose and a meaning behind it that’s all.

I MISS US What makes us miss certain people in our lives, for me I would say it is the degree of feelings that you have towards them.
